#LEAVENOONEBEHIND – BRINGING TOGETHER THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, NOVARTIS EGYPT AND CAIRORUNNERS TO GIVE LEUKEMIA PATIENTS RENEWED HOPE
The Challenge
CML – Chronic Myeloid Leukemia – is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that progresses slowly. Long considered a life-threatening condition, medical innovation has transformed the outlook for patients – today, CML is a chronic yet manageable condition. Despite medical advances, public awareness of a better prognosis remains limited, and much needs to be done to mobilize support for cancer patients to reduce not only the physical burden, but also the devastating psychological and financial impact of the illness.
The Solution
Vantage Communications designed and enabled a three-way partnership driving awareness of a brighter future for CML patients in Egypt. Leveraging the #LeaveNoOneBehind World CML Day theme for 2023, Novartis Egypt teamed up with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Egypt’s forefront cancer treatment facility serving more than 300,000 patients every year, and enlisted CairoRunners’ support to organize a Run inspiring hope for everyone affected by blood cancers. The run kicked off and ended at the NCI’s 500 500 Hospital, symbolizing a beacon of hope to all cancer patients in Egypt.
